If I do connect, Ovi identifies the phone correctly (Nokia 810)! but since I can't change the phone to "USB mode," it's a dead end. It's totally incomprehensible (this is a guess) that MS would not let their OS connect to a PC via USB and Nokia's Ovi Suite. Not to be snarky, but the fact is many of the phone brand's interface software will do what you want just fine. I found it a bit overwhelming and I made delete errors. Is there a way to sync contact and calendar information from outlook on your pc (non-exchange) to a windows phone without using the cloud, or first having to sync to an online account?
